Happy Chinese New Year, the year of the Golden Pig!

Back by popular demand: My web-based holiday newsletter! And may I add.....better late than never!  The 2006 holiday season was more hectic than one could ever imagine at a non-traditional mall. I finally took my cousin Adrienne's advice and "punted." And here we are.

One of the reasons Christmas was so hectic was that I spent the holiday in Las Vegas with my cousin Celia, her husband Viv, their two adorable kids, and her in-laws.  I am not going to post my Vegas eats here since it was mostly buffets, and the Commander's Palace in the Alladin has closed. Needless to say, it was a wonderful trip and it was very special for me to be able to spend time with Cel & her family.

Not much new for me except for my new best friend: In March, when Hawaii experienced 40 rainy days & nights, someone hit my car in traffic. My 15.5 year old Toyota Corolla (75,000 miles, baby) was still perfectly driveable, but I took it as a sign for change. After an agonizing decision process, I got a Chili Red Mini Cooper! Just pop a French CD in and it feels like it's cruising on the roads of Provence. All the European people I've driven around Honolulu are very amused.

The other news is literally the news: I've been dabbling in some freelance writing for Gannett's Custom Publishing Group, covering when they are short handed. Yes, that's my byline you've seen in Homescapes, Progress, Vegas Bound, Landscape Hawaii, Windward People, and East Oahu People!

I'm still at Aloha Tower Marketplace and I hope you get the chance to visit me--especially for our special events. Lots of food, fun, fashion....and fish food for the kids! It's become the Center of Celebration, and you will find that it's very different from what it was three years ago.

Warning:  This year's newsletter is huge.  I traveled the same amount as all other years, but somehow it seems like I met more people and discovered more new places.
